Shooting at Virgina Tech: 32 Killed

This makes me very sad. My prayers go out to the victims' family and friends. Why this kind of thing happens is beyond me. As far as I know, this is the second shooting at Virginia Tech in one year.

Tomorrow I am sure my students will have many things to say about this unfortunate incident, especially now that the gunman is known to have been a South Korean.

Additional video reports and reactions worldwide here.

I will come back. It's only a shott time away - February. Then I'll be walking the Hollywood streets again. You can see me and say, "There he is."

In the meantime, I am here. It can get lonely beng a foreigner at times, but I'm here to accomplish things I was supposed to. It may seem like L.A. was just as viable as Korea, but I was pulled here for a reason, and I'm sure I'll learn something.

As far as Virginia, I understand your sorrow. It's hard to believe things like that can happen. It makes life feel unsafe, and maybe, America, as more unsafe than one would have thought. But, remember, that you are you, and this person was them. Everyone has troubles and gun control might help, but all we can do is hope for the best for the victim's families, and maybe, just maybe, vote for stricter gun control laws in the future.

I love you and hope L.A. is treating you well. I have the entire week off from the university, and may just write a book. I might even draw one. We'll see. I'll keep you updated.

Talk to you soon,

P.
